NEW! FALL 2025 DATES

Can you picture yourself?…
-
Strolling along cobblestone streets lined with colorful colonial buildings, the scent of fresh tortillas drifting through the air. You’re weaving through local markets, discovering centuries-old churches, and pausing to take in views of volcanoes rising beyond vibrant rooftops. With your guide (and new friends) by your side, you’re not just sightseeing—you’re learning the layered stories of Antigua’s history, culture, and resilience. Every corner feels like a postcard, and every step connects you more deeply to the heart of Guatemala.
-
Every day you’ll wake up to the sound of birds and soft sunlight spilling into your beautifully designed, cozy dorm tucked in the hills of Antigua. You’re wrapped in a blanket with a journal in hand, sipping Guatemalan coffee on a breezy patio surrounded by greenery. Later, you’ll gather in a sunlit space with your group for a guided self-reflection workshop—sharing stories, setting intentions, and reconnecting with the parts of yourself that often get lost in everyday life. Between the stillness, the sisterhood, and the soul work, this is your time to slow down and tune in.
-
Waking up in the quiet stillness of early morning, hiking by headlamp under a starry sky. You reach the summit of Indian Nose just as the horizon begins to glow, painting the sky in soft shades of orange and pink. As the sun rises behind the distant volcanoes, Lake Atitlán slowly comes to life below you—mist rising off the water, villages tucked into the hills, the whole world stretching out in silence. Surrounded by other women who made the climb with you, it’s a moment of awe, accomplishment, and reflection—one you’ll carry with you long after the trip ends.
-
Your 9 day trip will be filled with unique and locally run cultural and self development workshops including:
A Jade Jewelry Workshop with a local family, take home your own one of a kind jade necklace or bracelet!
A traditional Mayan Cacao Ceremony and Workshop, learn about and experience the healing benefits of this ancient drink.
Mayan Weaving Workshop, learn the art of Mayan textile making with two local female entrepreneurs.
A Guatemalan Cooking Class, cook your own delicious lunch of traditional Guatemalan dishes.
A Mayan Temescal (hot sauna) and Cold Plunge Practice using a traditional Mayan temescal. Unlock deep emotions and blockages to leave you feeling renewed and reconnected to yourself.
A Mayan Art and Healing Workshop led by a local Mayan artist. Find safety and connection with your fellow group members as you form your own emotional connections with the sacred Mayan land, each other, and yourself.
And lastly, of course we have to include a Salsa and Bachata Class!
-
You’re sitting around a small family table along the shores of Lake Atitlan, sharing a homemade meal prepared with love and fresh ingredients from the local market. You’re staying in the home of a warm, welcoming Mayan family in San Juan La Laguna—laughing over language exchanges, learning how to make traditional tortillas, and experiencing daily life in a completely new way. As the sun sets over the lake and the mountains turn gold, you’re not just a visitor—you’re part of something real, something rooted. These are the connections that stay with you long after the trip ends.
-
Each night, gather around a long table with a group of women who feel more like sisters than strangers. Laughter fills the air, candles flicker, and homemade Guatemalan dishes are passed around—each meal a chance to slow down, savor the moment, and connect. Whether you’re sharing stories from the day’s adventures or simply enjoying the comfort of a warm meal after a hike, these dinners become the heartbeat of the trip. It's in these shared moments—around the table, over local flavors—that the real magic of community unfolds.
-
Picture yourself standing above the clouds, breathless—not just from the hike, but from the view. You’ve just conquered Volcán Acatenango, one of the most iconic hikes in Central America, and now you're watching lava erupt from neighboring Volcán Fuego under a sky full of stars. Wrapped in a cozy jacket, surrounded by your new friends and the quiet of the mountains, you feel powerful, grounded, and alive. This isn’t just a hike—it’s a reminder of everything you’re capable of.
-
Diving into the sparkling blue waters of Lake Atitlán, surrounded by towering volcanoes and lush green hills. The sun is warm on your skin, and the air feels clean and still. You’re laughing with your new friends who feel like old ones, some of who gracefully paddleboard across the calm waves and some who struggle not to fall off (you’re trip leader is definitely one of those friends)! You think…how did life get THIS good?
-
On your final full day in Guatemala, step into the rural village of Suchitepecez where you’ll be greeted by the bright smiles and curious eyes of local children. As you spend your day lending a hand—whether you're painting a classroom, helping with a creative project, or simply playing games—you begin to realize how meaningful the small moments can be. Laughter echoes across the schoolyard as genuine bonds are formed, despite the language barrier. These aren't just volunteer hours—they’re powerful cross-cultural connections that leave a lasting impact on both sides. It’s humbling, heart-opening, and often the most memorable part of the journey.
Meet Your Trip Leader: Kayla O’Neill
Chief Operating Officer and Trip Leader at EXPLORENGO
Guatemala was the first country I ever traveled to completely solo. I was so scared, I remember the night before my flight I almost canceled everything. And what happened when I decided to just GO? I met my now life-long friend and business partner, I’ve connected with local communities and businesses, I’ve found a new home and now live in my true happy place: Antigua, Guatemala, AND I get to share this all with travel-loving women like myself from around the world??
I’m so excited for every woman who makes the decision to join one of our group trips. There’s nothing better than the excitement and adventure of experiencing a new country with like-minded women who just get you and who are down for anything, from hiking an active volcano to volunteering and connecting with locals. I can’t wait to share my love for this beautiful country!
